100th Post/Updating Everyone On How 2009 Has Been Thus Far

I know it’s been a while.  I’m truly sorry for that.  I got some pretty exciting news for everyone though.

This is my 100th blog entry!  As soon as I typed that, confetti fell from the sky.  There are balloons everywhere.  A whole slew of people in party hats just barged into my room with those noisy blow things.  It’s a celebration in here.  Really, I didn’t expect this.  I wish you were all here!

Where do I begin.  I’d like to thank all my readers… my mom for always being there… and most importantly, the big guy in the sky, my lord and savior Jesus Chri…..

Anyway it’s 2009.  It’s time for me to get off on the right foot.  I need a new start.

A lot hasn’t happened since January 1st, ‘09.  I’d like to share some of what hasn’t happened since the ball dropped.  I don’t even know where when to begin:

  • I haven’t met any new people.
  • My finacial situation hasn’t changed.
  • I still haven’t realized that my “music career” will never get started.
  • My drinking hasn’t slowed down.
  • I haven’t done anything for my friends or family yet.
  • The Eagles haven’t won a Super Bowl.
  • My jokes are still mediocre at best.
  • I’ve entered my 25th year on Earth still never making a New Year’s resolution.

Ahh, the resolution.  That’s something I want to talk about.  A lot of people find it’s important to make a change at the turn of the new year.  What better time to make that change in January rather than, say, when you should’ve made it months ago… years ago even.

I can’t hate on the resolution too much though.  People need it for motivation.  I can understand that.  It’s tough to set ourselves up for failure at random.  With the New Year’s resolution, we can all blow our goals together (sometime around mid-February for most I’d guess).

Not all goals end in disaster though.  I’m sure some work out for those who really put forth the effort.  For those of you who have succeeded, please post your stories in the comments.  I’m curious.

As a few of you may know, February 7th marks the Chinese New Year.  And so, in showing my love for diverse culture, I will end my streak of resolutionless new years.

My Chinese New Year’s resolution is to make a New Year’s resolution for 2010.  Don’t expect me to keep 2010’s goal.  I didn’t say that.  It’s going to be hard enough to hold on to this one.

Making and KEEPING a resolution is something I’ll have to tackle in 2011.  I mean, come on… I’m not Superman.
